ORIGIN STORY
Zara Castle is a dark fantasy and contemporary romance author from the Pacific Northwest. While she’s been reading all her life, she started writing her first novel in 2024. As an avid consumer of romantic fiction, she has read everything from fluffy fantasy to alien adventures. Her favorite color is the rainbow and she has a concerning obsession with quippy stickers.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When do you anticipate releasing your first novel?
These characters and their journey together have been on my mind since late 2023. My goal is to publish this in March of 2026.
There is good news, however; I have all four books mapped out and outlined!
All this being said: I’ve never done this before! I’m still learning as I go how to not only write a compelling and comprehensive story, but how to establish myself as a self-published author and everything that entails.
Rest assured, telling their story is my highest priority.
What genre(s) do you write?
My first series is a paranormal academy reverse harem story and I anticipate the series being complete with 4 books, with a potential spin off depending on other priorities and demand.
I have also planned out an alien romance series, two contemporary dark romance series, and a number of standalone novels.
How do you handle content warnings & sensitive topics?
My books may contain sensitive content that could be upsetting to readers. I will always include full content warnings on my website, and content warnings by chapter in my books.
I am also committed to working with sensitivity readers for topics that I myself have either not experienced personally, or don’t feel informed enough about.
