One day I’m reading my 1,300th romance novel in two years, the next I’m 60k words deep into the first draft of my debut novel, the first of my new dark paranormal academia romantic fantasy series.
After feeling like I’d exhausted the best of the genre, I saw an opportunity to fill a gap and set out to write a story that I would enjoy as a reader, and if others happened to like it too? Well that’s just icing on the cake.
I started brainstorming in late 2023, and throughout 2024 my world, my characters, my own passion and writing skills grew beyond what I could have ever imagined. Now, I have to pause and appreciate how far I’ve come: from ravenous reader to aspiring author with a four-book story arc planned and outlined– and that’s just the start. 2025 is the year of ✨manifesting✨.
Why you're going to love my book
It’s going to be raw, gritty, angsty, high-stakes, and hopefully we’ll all make it to the end (though I can’t say the same for some of my characters). You’re going to hate them before you love them as they fight to survive in a world where the powerful prey on the powerless, and every choice brings them closer to the edge of oblivion-or salvation. Now that I’ve teased you with a little taste of what’s to come, here’s the plan:
- Complete the estimated 150k word first draft by end of Summer 2025
- Commission character and cover artwork
- Edit, rewrite, and edit again throughout the Fall of 2025
- Announce title & open pre-orders in the New Year
- Release beta reader copies in January & compile feedback
- Release ARCs towards mid-February
- Self-publish book 1 towards the end of March 2026
- Probably take a vacation, idk
